UPMC for You Wins Two MHPA Awards

PITTSBURGH, Nov. 19, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- UPMC for You, the Medical Assistance program of UPMC Health Plan, was honored by the Medicaid Health Plans of America (MHPA) Institute for Medicaid Innovation for demonstrating innovative and effective approaches to providing services that have improved the health of Medicaid enrollees, at MHPA's annual Best Practices Awards program held in Washington, D.C., earlier this month.

"High Value Care for Kids," a UPMC for You program, won MHPA's "Children's Health Award." "High Value Care for Kids" was recognized for improving the value of care for children with medically complex conditions through provider flexibility and accountability, information sharing and transparency, and consumer engagement.

"High Value Care for Kids" also won MHPA's "Medicaid Managed Care Innovation Award," for its partnership with participating pediatric practices that identified lead pediatricians who ensure provider buy-in.

Chosen by an independent advisory panel, UPMC for You was one of five health plans from across the nation to be recognized by MHPA.
