PITTSBURGH, May 29, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- "Home Run for Health," a new, fun physical activity challenge for the workplace is now available for employers from UPMC WorkPartners. "Home Run for Health" encourages employees to get up and get moving on their way to becoming fitter and healthier.

"Home Run for Health" is a nine-inning "game," with each inning the equivalent of one week. Participants log their activity with My Activity Tracker, an online program that assigns step totals for over 200 different activities, including walking, aerobics, lawn mowing, and playing with your children.
For every 10,000 steps logged, participants are credited with a home run. Employees can also earn incentives and prizes when they log activities for a total of 27 days during the nine-week "Home Run for Health" challenge. In addition they will receive information via email and text messages that includes recipes, tips on ways to get more movement during the day, as well as additional resources.
