U.S. Air Force and Department of Defense select Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort on Gulf Coast for Yellow Ribbon event

MIRAMAR BEACH, FL, July 23 /PRNewswire/ - Maxwell Air Force Base's 908th Airlift Wing selected Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort on Florida's Gulf Coast for its Yellow Ribbon Reintegration Program this weekend, July 23-25.

The Secretary of Defense initiated the Yellow Ribbon Reintegration Program which provides information, services, referral, and proactive outreach programs to soldiers and their families. This weekend's events at Sandestin will focus on information to assist families and their loved ones who have recently returned from Iraq and Afghanistan.

According to Lt. Col Jerry Lobb, chief of public affairs for the 908th Airlift Wing, the purpose of the event is to provide much needed information for our returning Airmen and give them an opportunity to reconnect with their families. "Our Airmen and their families very much look forward to this event at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort. We are proud to support our members and also the Gulf Coast during this critical time," said Lt. Col. Lobb.

This weekend's Yellow Ribbon event for more than 150 people will include informational sessions, a pool party for families, and an opportunity for military to enjoy the resort's amenities including the beach and entertainment, including a Patriotic salute in the Village of Baytowne Wharf.
