WASHINGTON, April 10, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Following is the daily "Profile America" feature from the U.S. Census Bureau:
BE KIND TO LAWYERS DAY
Profile America — Monday, April 10th. When people need help — ranging from dealing with a traffic offense, writing a will, setting up a business, or facing serious criminal charges — they turn to an attorney. Yet this ancient profession is the frequent target of ridicule and disdain. Lawyers rank just ahead of advertisers and car salespersons in esteem, and there are numerous websites devoted to lawyer jokes. That's why tomorrow is International Be Kind to Lawyers Day. Suggestions for observing the day range from giving the jokes a rest, to phoning your attorney to express appreciation. Across the U.S., there are about 1 million lawyers and judicial law clerks, over one-third of them women. They are aided by some 570,000 legal support workers. You can find more facts about America's people, places and economy, from the American Community Survey, at www.census.gov.
