WASHINGTON, Aug. 25, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- U.S. Conference of Mayors President and Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson issued the following statement today regarding the earthquake that struck the Bay Area yesterday:

"The nation's mayors extend heartfelt sympathies to the people of the Bay Area and the Napa region who have suffered a horrific experience, yet have survived.

"We stand with Napa Mayor Jill Techel and Vallejo Mayor Osby Davis, as well as the residents of the impacted area as they assess the needs of their community and determine what is needed to rebuild.
