Four-Year Agreement Delivers Nearly 70 Percent Wage Increases for Workers
LOS ANGELES, Oct. 7, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- More than 500 US Foods drivers, warehouse workers, and mechanics represented by Teamsters Locals 87, 542, 630, 848, and 986 have voted overwhelmingly to ratify a strong new contract. This agreement sets a new standard in the food service industry.
"We strategized, organized, and mobilized our members into action," said Lou Villalvazo, Secretary-Treasurer of Local 630. "This contract reflects the commitment and dedication our members invested in making US Foods the success it is and it rewards their hard work and long hours away from their families."
The group won wage increases averaging between 66 and 70 percent over the life of the agreement, automation language that protects their work, increased pension contributions, and maintained their fully employer-paid health insurance.
"This contract negotiation was not an easy feat," said Kevin Burrow, a 40-year US Foods worker and shop steward with Local 630. "But we never backed down and got the job done. Thanks to our leadership and their hard work, our families and co-workers are going to really benefit from this deal."
US Foods is one of the largest and most profitable food service distributors in the country. The Teamsters represent more than 5,500 US Foods workers nationwide. US Foods Teamsters under this agreement deliver to customers across Southern California, supplying hundreds of local restaurants, major universities, and critical hospital systems.
"This is one of the strongest contracts ever secured in this industry," said Tom Erickson, Director of the Teamsters Warehouse Division. "Teamsters continue to raise the standard and set a powerful example for workers taking on Corporate America nationwide. We will not stop until every company follows suit and recognizes the value of the workers who make its profits possible."
