US Specialists Have Participated in the International Expert Transport Council at Moscow

Today, on 30 August, the first two-day meeting of the International Expert Transport Council affiliated to the Government of Moscow has ended. The condition and perspectives Moscow municipal transport development have been discussed by Mr. Maxim Liksutov, acting Deputy Mayor of Moscow, Mr. Sergey Cheremin, Acting Minister, Head of External Economic and International Relations Department of Moscow city, representatives of the Department for Transport and Road-Transport Infrastructure, State Unitary Enterprise "Mosgortrans", Moscow Metro, and also experts from USA, Singapore, Germany, UK, Austria, France and other countries.

On 29 August at Moscow Metro Headquarters the meeting's members were offered the "Development of Moscow Municipal Transport" presentation. After this presentation the members made a tour around the city where they viewed the transportation infrastructure facilities.

On 30 August at White Hall of Columns of Moscow City Hall Mr. Maxim Liksutov, acting Deputy Mayor of Moscow, Sergey Cheremin, Acting Minister, Head of External Economic and International Relations Department of Moscow city, spoke before the experts. Then the members were offered a "Passenger Transportation Grade of Service Improvement Work" presentation.

During afternoon the second and third sessions of the municipal transport development roundtable discussion was held in Hotel National. Mr. Sergey Cheremin, Acting Minister, Head of External Economic and International Relations Department of Moscow city has participated in these sessions. Addressing the audience the Head of External Economic and International Relations Department has marked that "Moscow Government is engaged in dynamic activities within a wide range of areas, i.a. the creation of intellectual transport system, improvement of comfort and appeal of municipal transport, administering of parking areas', and subway and roads construction".

"Moscow is ready and endeavors at implementation of ambitious transport infrastructure projects using modern state and private partnership patterns", - Acting Minister said.

"I hope that henceforth the International Expert Transport Council's meetings will become a platform for regular professional dialogues under topical issues of municipal transport development and eventually will facilitate pursuing a paramount goal - improvement of townspeople life quality".

All suggestions and initiatives worked out during discussions will be considered by the Department for Transport and Road-Transport Infrastructure and offered to Mr. Sergey Sobyanin, acting Mayor of Moscow.
