Usman Shakir Joins NIKA as the Firm's Chief Financial Officer
ROCKVILLE, Md., July 22, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- NIKA, a global provider of architecture, engineering, facilities and operations and maintenance solutions to government, announced today that Usman Shakir has joined the executive leadership team as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. In this role, Shakir will serve as a strategic partner to President and Chief Executive Officer Kabir Chaudhary and lead a variety of management functions, including finance, accounting, planning & analysis, treasury, and corporate development and expansion.

Shakir is a seasoned finance and operations leader with 18 years of corporate experience in Finance, Operations, and Strategy. Focused primarily in the areas of technology, software, internet, and government contracting, his functional expertise includes M&A transactions, business valuations, risk management, treasury, business strategy and operational infrastructure development.

Before joining NIKA, Shakir served in Senior Corporate Finance roles with Berico, Deltek and AOL, where he led Finance Operations for divisions with revenue exceeding $100M respectively. Earlier in his career, Shakir worked in various Finance roles for a private equity firm in Toronto, Canada, GE Capital, and began his career in Public Accounting with Big 4 firm KPMG in Stamford, Connecticut.
Shakir earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from the University of Maryland, and has completed Executive MBA coursework from The College of William & Mary. He currently serves on the Boards of two other Washington D.C. based companies and was also a former professional baseball player.
