IRVING, Texas, Jan. 26, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- USMD Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: USMD), a physician-led integrated healthcare system, announces that Jay Shah, M.D., has joined USMD Affiliated Services. The addition of Dr. Shah, who specializes in orthopedic surgery and sports medicine, brings a new specialty, orthopedic surgery, to USMD, and increases the total number of specialties offered at USMD to more than 20. With Dr. Shah, the number of orthopedic and neuro surgeons performing surgery at USMD's two hospitals expands to 24.

Dr. Shah will practice at the new USMD Arlington Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Clinic, located at 811 W. Interstate 20, Suite 132, Arlington, TX 76017, and the USMD Las Colinas Specialty Care Clinic, located at 6750 N. MacArthur Blvd., Suite 300, Irving, TX 75039.
Dr. Shah completed his fellowship in orthopedic sports medicine at University of Texas –Houston/Baylor College of Medicine, his residency in orthopedic surgery at University of Alabama at Birmingham and his medical degree at Rush University Medical College. During medical training, Dr. Shah provided team medical coverage to the Houston Texans, Houston Rockets, Houston Astros, Houston Dynamo, University of Houston and a number of high school athletic programs.
