HOUSTON, Aug. 30, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The United Steelworkers (USW) union believes fairness is dead at ExxonMobil and that it requires a proper funeral. In early July the company fired two Local 13-2001 officers—President Ricky Brooks and Vice President Mark Schubert—based on statements Schubert allegedly made during a new-hire orientation at the Baytown facility. Local 13-2001 believes the dismissals are an underhanded attempt to undermine the workers' union months before negotiations begin for a new contract. The local's contract ends April 15, 2013.
