The 32-year-old midfielder scored three of the U.S. team's five goals in an astounding 16 minutes, including the first hat-trick in WWC final history, from center field.
Breaking multiple World Cup records, the U.S. Women's National Team now holds three World Cup titles — more than any other country — having previously won in 1991 and 1999. According to Nielsen, the sporting event was the most-watched soccer match in U.S. television history — for women or men — drawing in 25.4 million viewers.
