UT Haslam Ranked Top 25 in Undergraduate Business by U.S. News & World Report

KNOXVILLE, Tenn., Sept. 22, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- The Haslam College of Business at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, held the No. 25 spot for a second year in a row among public colleges and stood at No. 39 nationally in U.S. News & World Report's 2027 Best Undergraduate Business Programs rankings. The college's supply chain management undergraduate program maintained the No. 3 national spot for a second year and the No. 3 public spot for a sixth year in a row. The economics undergraduate programs, which are administered by both Haslam and UT's College of Arts and Sciences, climbed seven spots to No. 36 among public schools. Haslam's accounting undergraduate program placed at No. 18 among public institutions and No. 43 nationally.

Experiential Learning-Fueled Education Attracts Students

Haslam is recognized for providing a top-tier education featuring robust experiential learning components. Lane Morris, associate dean of undergraduate studies and student affairs and John W. Fisher Professor of Innovative Learning, called the latest U.S. News & World Report rankings a reflection of Haslam's dedication to ensuring students experience a supportive academic culture that offers transformative education.

Haslam has experienced unprecedented growth in recent years, with a record-setting total undergraduate enrollment of 9,897 students in 2026. To meet this growing demand, construction is under way on a new business building, Randy Boyd Hall, which is scheduled for completion in 2027.

The 2026 U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges rankings include student retention, graduation rates and faculty research citations, with all outcome-based criteria accounting for more than half of the total rank, which includes a new "earnings by major" ranking factor for 2026. Other elements considered include peer assessments, first-year retention rates and faculty resources, among others.
