UTA College of Nursing and Health Innovation Releases Enrollment and Employer Survey Data at ANCC National Magnet Conference
Largest public college of nursing in U.S. showcases data that illustrates graduation rates and workplace performance for RN-to-BSN graduates for on-campus and online programs.
ATLANTA, Oct. 8, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The University of Texas at Arlington College of Nursing and Health Innovation joins more than 7,000 nurses and nursing executives from top hospitals at the 2015 American Nurses Credentialing Center Magnet Conference who are working to champion and promote nursing excellence.
As part of its own continual improvement process focused on quality measurements and student successes demonstrated through high graduation rates, UTA announced new findings that demonstrate the impact the institution has on nursing education in Texas, particularly for RN-to-BSN programs.
According to enrollment and graduation data obtained from the Texas Nursing Education Program Information Survey (2011-14):
- UTA enrolled 64 percent of all Texas RN-to-BSN students.
- UTA produced 54 percent of all RN-to-BSN graduates from the 26 programs in Texas.
According to 1,005 randomly selected and analyzed employer feedback surveys for RN-to-BSN students in their Cooperative Learning applications course (2012-15):
- 97 percent of UTA nursing students were rated as being consistently seen as role models for evidence-based practice by their employer.
- 99.4 percent of UTA nursing students were rated as being consistently seen as role models for being change agents within the workplace.
- 98.6 percent of UTA nursing students were rated as being consistently seen as role models for using inter-professional collaborative practice by their employers.
"As the number one producer of RN-to-BSN graduates in Texas, UTA is clearly the go-to school for RNs who want to earn their bachelor's degree in an affordable and timely manner," said Anne Bavier, dean of the College of Nursing and Health Innovation.
"Being the largest program also gives UTA the ability to hire the best nursing faculty and nurse practitioner instructors in the country, and they in turn, develop the most robust and relevant courses for our traditional on-campus students and those choosing to study 100 percent online."
Dr. Mary Elizabeth Mancini, professor and senior associate dean for education innovation in the College of Nursing and Health Innovation, added: "As a leading provider of nursing education, our students should expect that we provide them with the tools and critical thinking skills necessary to excel in their chosen career paths – and the employer survey data proves that we are doing just that."
