Valor Education's Enrollment Lottery Reflects Unprecedented Growth and Continued Commitment to Families

Parents of 5,636 students entered the 2025-26 lottery hoping to be chosen for one of the 1,300 seats available.

AUSTIN, Texas and SAN ANTONIO, March 19, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Valor Education, which has five charter schools in Austin and San Antonio, recently held its enrollment lottery for the 2025-26 school year due to overwhelming demand which outstrips the number of seats available at its schools next year. Parents of 5,636 students entered their child's name into the lottery, hoping to be randomly chosen for one of the anticipated 1,300 open seats available at the Valor schools this fall. This means seven out of ten students will likely end up on a waiting list.

With over 4,000 students enrolled this school year and 5,000 additional children on the waitlist, Valor Education has been expanding to meet the growing demand in central Texas and beyond while staying true to its purpose of providing high-quality classical education to people of all backgrounds. The popular network of tuition-free classical charter schools has experienced enrollment growth of over 83% over the past three years after opening three new schools and expanding the capacity at its original campuses. As a network of charter schools, Valor does not receive the same level of facilities funding or access to lower-cost debt as independent school districts do from the state.

Even with the high demand, it is not too late to apply. There are still some available seats at a few of the schools in certain grade levels for the 2025-26 school year. As a public charter school, Valor has no admissions requirements and welcomes students of all abilities and backgrounds.
