Velcro Companies Wins 2015 Gold "PRO Award" For Its Holiday-Themed Pop-Up Store In New York City
VELCRO® Brand's Holiday HackShop in SoHo Takes the Win for Promotional Marketing Excellence in the Best Holiday-Themed Campaign Category
BOSTON, June 26, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Velcro Companies, the original creator of hook-and-loop fastening solutions, won a Gold PRO Award for its "Holiday HackShop" in the Best Holiday-Themed Campaign category. The company's pop-up, destination store was honored at PROMONext, an annual event hosted by Chief Marketer, on June 16, 2015.

The VELCRO® Brand Holiday HackShop, which was open from Dec. 1 to Dec. 19, 2014 in the SoHo area of Manhattan, served as a holiday-themed destination for shoppers, DIY fans, and individuals interested in everyday "hacks" to make their lives easier, especially through the holiday season. Many visitors to the HackShop were unfamiliar with the versatility and convenience of VELCRO® Brand products, prior to their visit. After experiencing the HackShop, shoppers left with a wealth of new ideas for craft and organizational projects to create with VELCRO® Brand products, for the holidays and beyond.
Nearly 5,000 visitors enjoyed complimentary gift wrapping and craft workshops on holiday hacks and DIY projects, led by celebrity lifestyle and design expert and Velcro Companies Ambassador, Sabrina Soto. In addition, the VELCRO® Brand Holiday HackShop hosted a "Social Currency Day" on December 15, 2014, where customers could pay for certain products by retweeting, posting, and other forms of social sharing.
The PRO Awards, presented by Chief Marketer Network, celebrate and recognize outstanding promotional marketing campaigns by agencies and brands. This year, more than 500 entries were assessed by 58 judges in 28 different categories. Launched in 1989, this year marked the 25th Anniversary of the PRO Awards.
