VEMERIX Launches Patented Single-Use Ultrasound Guidance Puncture Kit With Probe-Matched Customization

The NMPA Class II kit secures the probe and needle for in-plane guided puncture, ships in four configurations across 45 size codes, and extends the registered-consumable model the company documented across four device categories

WEIHAI, China, Sept. 30, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- VEMERIX, the international medical device brand of Weihai Medison Medical Equipment Co., Ltd., today announced the international launch of its Ultrasound Guidance Puncture Kit, a sterile single-use device that secures an ultrasound probe and puncture needle and guides the needle to the target position in the body under real-time imaging. The kit is registered in China as a Class II medical device (Lu Mech Reg. 20262060176, approved June 2, 2026) and is built on a granted Chinese invention patent for a vascular-puncture ultrasound guide (ZL 2025 1 0512603.8, granted Nov. 25, 2025).

The kit is designed to replace free-hand "blind" needle advancement with visualized, in-plane guidance: the needle guide holds the puncture path inside the imaging plane, so the operator advances the needle while watching its position on screen — an approach intended to reduce needle-tip excursion and help avoid posterior-wall penetration during vascular access. It is offered in four configurations, from the MDS-A needle-guide bracket to the MDS-D full procedure kit with acoustic membrane, coupling gel, drape, sterile gloves and skin-prep supplies, across 45 size codes.

The design has been iterated with clinical users since a pilot project in 2022 — three ultrasound generations and five major plus 22 minor revisions of the needle-guide bracket. In company-collected feedback from clinical users over the past six months, covering more than 1,000 punctures, reported puncture-and-catheter-placement success was 96%. These figures are field reports gathered by the company, not results of a controlled clinical investigation.

The launch extends the pattern VEMERIX documented in its July 2026 deep-research report "The Single-Use Turn": across vein ablation, wound therapy, circumcision and aesthetic injection, value and regulatory focus are migrating from the durable machine to the registered single-use consumable — 40 of 56 curated US vein-ablation 510(k) clearances from 1997–2025 are single-use kits, fibers or catheters against 11 capital consoles, and single-use negative-pressure wound therapy grew from 0% before 2015 to 21.1% of US Medicare NPWT application services by 2024. The puncture kit applies the same model to ultrasound guidance: the imaging console is the durable platform; the registered, sterile consumable carries the clinical interface and the compliance file.
