Effective immediately, company co-founder and Internet Retailer publisher Jack Love is stepping down as chief executive officer and assuming the position of chairman. Love appointed Molly Rogers as president and CEO of Vertical Web Media. Additionally, Tom Duggan joined the company in the first week of September as its vice president of sales and product development.
Rogers previously held the position of chief operating officer at Vertical Web Media, where she oversaw sales, marketing and key vendor relationships and managed the operations for the company's web site, which ranks among the 3,000 most frequently visited web sites in the U.S. As president and CEO, Rogers will lead Vertical Web Media through the next stages of its transformation to a company that empowers its executive readership with a comprehensive portfolio of business intelligence products designed to help them grow their e-retailing businesses and effectively compete on a global scale.
"I am excited to expand our publishing company's coverage of a market that continues to grow and innovate," Rogers states. "Fourteen years ago, Jack Love launched Internet Retailer on the premise that the Internet will change everything we know about retail. Our company has covered the e-retailing revolution like no other, and it is my privilege to continue our mission and expand our coverage in emerging markets," she said.
In Tom Duggan's new role as vice president of sales and product development, he will be responsible for managing Internet Retailer's sales team and for developing new products designed to leverage the brand's storehouse of proprietary e-commerce content available through its monthly trade magazine, and suite of research and web-based products. Duggan's extensive publishing background includes serving as vice president and group advertising director of Faulkner & Grey's E-Commerce Media Group, where he worked directly for Jack Love. More recently, he held the position of group publisher of Summit Business Media's Financial & Professional Services Group. "As part of the original team that launched Internet Retailer in 1999, I am excited to be back to help expand our business offering as the content leader in e-retailing and e-commerce," Duggan said.
Duggan's new role commences in early October at Vertical Web Media's downtown Chicago main office. He reports directly to Molly Rogers. Rogers can be reached at (312) 572-6254 or [email protected]. Duggan can be reached at (312) 572-6250 or [email protected].
