Veteran Executive Alicin Williamson to Provide Interim Leadership for The National Association for Multi-ethnicity in Communications

NEW YORK, Aug. 2, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- The National Association for Multi-ethnicity in Communications (NAMIC) today announced that communications industry veteran, Alicin Williamson will provide interim executive leadership for the association, effective immediately.  Williamson in her capacity as a principal at The Raben Group, a strategy firm, will facilitate transitional management services until such time that a successor to NAMIC's outgoing president and chief executive officer, Dr. Nicol Turner-Lee is named. Turner-Lee departed the association on July 31, 2013.

Prior to joining The Raben Group in 2012, Williamson was a member of the executive team at MTV Networks from 1998-2011.  In her capacity of senior vice president of public affairs and corporate responsibility for MTV Networks, Williamson crafted award-winning public affairs initiatives and strategies and assisted in guiding MTVN's diversity agenda as an executive advisor for global inclusion. 

During her tenure at MTVN, Williamson served as a member of the NAMIC Board of Directors from 2000-2010.  Williamson's ten-years of NAMIC governance included a two-year term as board chair from 2006-2008.  In her role as board chair, Williamson made significant contributions to NAMIC's infrastructure, such as assisting with the development of the association's Annual Corporate Sponsor initiative and facilitating MTVN's underwriting of the pilot Executive Leadership Development Program.
