Veteran Ventures Capital Leads $2.5 Million Seed Round in Radian Forge to Strengthen America's Maritime Industrial Base

Investment will accelerate Radian Forge's advanced manufacturing capacity for U.S. naval, maritime and defense applications.

MCLEAN, Va., Sept. 15, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Veteran Ventures Capital (VVC) today announced that it has led the $2.5 million Series Seed Preferred financing in Radian Forge, a Virginia-based advanced manufacturing company building on-demand production capacity for the U.S. maritime and defense industrial base.

The financing was made through VVC's Fund II, with additional participation from the Virginia Innovation Partnership Corporation (VIPC) and Radian Forge's existing investors.

Headquartered in Portsmouth, Virginia, adjacent to some of the nation's largest naval shipbuilding and repair facilities, Radian Forge produces large-scale, precision-grade metal components for naval, maritime and defense applications using large-format Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing (WAAM). The process produces large, complex components with material properties between castings and forgings, while reducing production lead times by 40–80% and enabling each WAAM robot to operate with a single operator.

The investment comes as the United States works to rapidly expand shipbuilding and repair capacity, strengthen domestic supply chains and address production constraints across the maritime industrial base.

In February 2026, Governor Abigail Spanberger announced that Radian Forge would invest $10.5 million to expand its Portsmouth operations, creating 53 new jobs, with the Commonwealth approving a $265,000 Opportunity Fund grant. VIPC's latest direct equity investment expands and strengthens the Commonwealth's commitment.
