Veterans Support Organization (VSO) Launches Grand Opening of Training Center to Serve Homeless and Disabled Veterans of New York, Connecticut and New Jersey
WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y., Feb. 27 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- In answer to the growing problem of homeless and unemployed veterans, in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut, the Veterans Support Organization, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation, has opened an 8,500 sq. ft. veterans center designed to provide employment and life skills training to disadvantaged/homeless/unemployed U.S. veterans.
The Grand Opening of the Veterans Support Organization's Institute for Social Renewal (ISR) will take place on Tuesday, March 2nd, 2010, at 31 South Street, Mount Vernon, New York 10550. Invitations to over seven hundred fifty (750) VFW Post Commanders, American Legion Post Commanders, DAV Groups, Purple Heart Groups, Mayors, Councilmen, Congressmen, State Representatives and VA Hospital Staff Members have been sent out.
At the Grand opening, Richard VanHouten, Jr., the President and Founder of VSO, will discuss the need for unity among veterans' groups, and will be requesting nominations for committee members from other veterans groups to start a unified committee for the purpose of determining how best to use and distribute the proceeds raised by the VSO locally.
In addition, Mr. Bittleman, J.D., C.R.P.S., the ISR Program Manager, and Ms. Giron, M.A., C.M.H.C., the Chief Operating Officer, will be describing the employment training program and social services to be provided at the institute.
It is rumored that several high ranking Washington Bigwigs will be attending along with the media. All interested veteran groups and persons are also invited.
