SEATTLE, Sept. 10, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, VICIS, Inc. announced its plan to introduce the ZERO1 YOUTH football helmet, the youth version of its top-rated ZERO1 model. The ZERO1 YOUTH helmet incorporates technology from the ZERO1, currently worn by hundreds of professional athletes and players at more than 100 NCAA programs and 1000 high schools. The ZERO1 YOUTH is engineered specifically for young players and the impacts they encounter on the field.
VICIS reinvented the football helmet when it introduced the ZERO1 to NFL and NCAA teams in 2017. The helmet ranked first in NFL / NFLPA's Helmet Laboratory Testing Performance in both 2017 and 2018. In 2018 VIRGINIA TECH® HELMET RATINGS™, which rates helmets based on the impact frequency and severity observed in high school and collegiate play, the ZERO1 ranked first and was awarded the highest available "5 STAR" rating.
VICIS has now brought the scientific rigor and creativity behind the ZERO1 to youth football with the ZERO1 YOUTH helmet. Like its varsity counterpart, the ZERO1 YOUTH features a deformable outer shell and unique columnar layer designed to slow impact forces like a car bumper. The helmet features a lightweight, compact design tailored to youth anatomies and offers the industry's widest field of view, allowing young players to see more of the field and react more quickly to potential impacts.
