BOULDER, Colo., Oct. 21, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- VictorOps, the leading incident lifecycle management and collaboration platform for IT and DevOps teams, today announced a direct Hubot integration. Hubot, an open source tool, originally built by GitHub, is a way for DevOps teams to automate operations tasks. A direct Hubot integration has been a top request from VictorOps customers in their effort to keep all remediation data on-platform.
With this ChatOps-inspired integration, VictorOps users can manage issues automatically by injecting Hubot commands directly into their VictorOps timeline and receiving corresponding results inline. The added functionality from this integration allows common commands like deploying code or fetching logs to occur anytime from anyplace via the VictorOps web client and mobile app.
"Many of our customers use a host of different technologies and services to get the job done when firefighting, and Hubot is one innovative way they are doing it," said Todd Vernon, co-founder and CEO, VictorOps. "A Hubot integration was a no brainer addition to the VictorOps platform, by streamlining communication in a centralized and powerful way, teams can share knowledge and solve problems faster than ever before."
In addition to the Hubot integration, VictorOps has released a host of resources to inform the larger community and contribute to the adoption of ChatOps as a way to discuss IT alerts and collaborate on solutions. These resources include a November 4th webinar, and a series of articles on both the Hubot integration and an intro to ChatOps processes overall.
Combined these resources will address:
- The benefits to implementing ChatOps within your collaboration software and how it can decrease the time it takes to deploy code and infrastructure, triage and mitigate incidents, as well as act as a learning tool
- Insights surrounding the movement towards deployment, measurement, and mitigation from within a chat client
- An understanding of what is actually possible with this type of automation
