The Chevrolet Malibu Eco is a prime example of this kind of mindset. It is being considered the most fuel efficient midsize sedan with features like eAssist which activate "light electrification" technology that provides electric propulsion to supplement the gas engine. The Eco is designed to deliver an estimated 26 MPG in city and 38 MPG on the highway without compromising performance.
The Malibu Eco will be available to in early 2012.
