Visual Network Systems Announces More Powerful ASEs for Deeper Visibility Into the Enterprise
Next-generation probe-based collectors provide increased performance for application network and VoIP performance for enterprises and managed service providers
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo., June 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Visual Network Systems, a leading provider of Enterprise Service Intelligence for IT organizations, today announced the release of seven new ASEs (Analysis Service Elements), offering in-depth, real-time and historical visibility into the performance of network and applications including VoIP. As part of the portfolio of data collectors within Visual Performance Manager™, these probe-based hardware data collectors offer real-time troubleshooting with deep packet inspection and historical analysis for converged networks. The new ASEs include models to support multi-port, single and dual-inline Gigabit Ethernet and combined OC-3/OC-12 WAN analysis for voice, video and data traffic.
Visual Network Systems' ASEs provide visibility from the physical layer through the application layer. They indicate when service levels are being met, provide warnings when degradation occurs and send alerts when service levels have exceeded acceptable limits. These new ASEs are fully compatible with the suite of Visual Performance Manager applications for managing the performance of MPLS networks, networked applications and VoIP deployments.
The Visual Performance Manager system helps to decrease the cost of performance management, drive revenue and optimize utilization of existing assets for the largest enterprises, carriers and managed service providers due to its highly scalable multi-tenant architecture.
The new ASEs are based on a next-generation hardware platform with custom architecture designed for high performance data capture and analysis. Each ASE is designed to handle over 4,000 site-to-site service level measurements, including availability, packet delivery ratio and round-trip delay per class of service to indicate the health of the service provider's WAN MPLS network. In call center applications, each ASE can support up to 1.2 million daily call tracking. The new appliance-based platform is scalable to 10G and 40G in the future with quick time-to-market advantage. The LINUX-based analysis software is also portable to other network device hardware platforms such as switches and routers.
"Visual Network Systems offers a broad portfolio of data collection elements to ensure we provide the broadest enterprise visibility as a part of our Enterprise Service Intelligence strategy. The newly released ASEs demonstrate our continued commitment to hardware probe-based data collectors for network performance monitoring," said Lyn Cantor, general manager, Visual Network Systems. "Specifically, the ASEs complement our flow-based collectors to provide a diverse set of data collectors so that our customers can have complete visibility of their enterprise WAN, LAN and data centers, allowing them to be in control of the end-user experience when delivering critical business services."
The new ASEs are available immediately.
