Vix Technology Delivers Speedy Commute for U.S. Public Transit Systems with Hosting and Data Center Services from Internap

ATLANTA, Oct. 25, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Internap Network Services Corporation (NASDAQ: INAP), a provider of intelligent IT Infrastructure services, today announced that Vix Technology, a global provider of intelligent transit solutions, is using Internap's scalable managed hosting, colocation and route-optimized Performance IP^™ services to power MASS, one of Vix's Electronic Fare Collection (EFC) platforms. With infrastructure services from Internap, Vix is able to seamlessly process more than 50 million transactions annually to deliver an exceptional experience for public transit commuters in the U.S.

Vix transitioned from independently hosting its MASS EFC platform to a data center services partnership with Internap that meets its complete hosting, colocation and network acceleration needs. Vix is now also leveraging Internap's services to support Vix's ITS solution for vehicle management in Martha's Vineyard and the soon-to-launch update to its open card EFC system that has been running in Salt Lake City since 2009.
