Volta Global to Develop New Self Storage Facility in Orlando, Florida
ORLANDO, Fla., Feb. 3, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Volta Global LLC has announced the purchase of a former Sports Authority in Orlando, Florida for a conversion into a new state-of-the-art self storage facility. This will be Volta's first ground up development since entering the self storage market in 2016 under their First USA Storage brand which owns and operates 220,000 square feet of self-storage property throughout North Carolina, Tennessee, and Louisiana.
Located on 9.5 acres at 7500 West Colonial Drive in Orlando, Florida, plans for the development call for a Class A storage facility featuring 100% climate controlled self storage. The property is strategically located along the main thoroughfare into Downtown Orlando, one of the fastest growing MSA's in the country. Extra Space Storage will manage the site, which will comprise of nearly 90,000 square feet after both phases of planned development are complete.
Volta is working with Florida-based Baldwin-Howell Properties as developer and The Starling Group as general contractor. The project, which is expected to be completed within six months, will feature 100% climate controlled units, 24-hour surveillance monitoring, electronic gate access, and a modern office space.
