Von Maur Department Store to Expand Its E-Commerce Fulfillment Center

DAVENPORT, Iowa, June 21, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Von Maur Department Store has begun construction on an expansion of its E-Commerce Fulfillment Center to support continued growth in its successful web business. Projected for completion in October 2012, the expansion will add an additional 73,000 square feet to the Company's current 46,000-square-foot center and create more than 50 new jobs in Davenport, Iowa over the next three years.

The expansion reflects the Company's successful online business at vonmaur.com, which has seen triple-digit percentage sales increases every year since 2008. Having already outgrown its original 46,000- square-foot facility built in 2010, the new 119,000-square-foot center will further enable Von Maur to serve a nationwide online customer base and grow its presence beyond its established Midwestern roots.

In addition to growing its online presence, Von Maur is expanding its national footprint with plans to add three new stores to its current 27 stores. A second Atlanta retail location is scheduled to open in Fall 2012, and locations in Alabama and New York are scheduled to open in Fall 2013.

The E-Commerce center's expansion will focus primarily on adding warehouse space - along with expanding its photo studios and office space - to house an increased volume of product offerings from leading brands such as Eileen Fisher, Free People, Coach, Joe's Jeans and Tommy Bahama, among others. Having grown from 20 employees in 2010 to its current staff of 65, the expanded E-Commerce Center will create an additional 50 jobs over the next three years to sustain the growing demand of the Company's online customers.
