SANTA CLARA, Calif., Sept. 27, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Chegg, the Student Hub, in partnership with truth, one of the largest and most successful national youth tobacco prevention campaigns, today announced that one U.S. college or high school campus can win a once-in-a-lifetime visit from Kaskade, a world-renowned dance music artist. Beginning today, high school and college students can vote for their school to win this on-campus experience through an online contest. The record producer and remixer will take over the classroom with a look into his rise to fame and experience as one of America's most successful DJs, as well as host an exclusive Q&A with students. The student body will also be treated to a set specially crafted for the day by Kaskade.
To celebrate the importance of arts in education, Chegg will also award the winning school a $10,000 grant for their music department from Chegg's David B. Goldberg Music Scholarship fund.
"Throughout my career I've always been known as the guy who loves to interact with my audience, and let them know it all begins and ends with the music," said Kaskade. "It's a great fit to get connected with Chegg Music 101. It gives me a chance to connect with my fans and share what I do with curious students who love dance music."
Students attending high school or college in the contiguous 48 states can begin nominating their campus today for a chance to win the experience. To do so, students simply visit chegg.com/play/kaskade, log in to Chegg, and vote for their school. The school with the most student votes will win the visit from Kaskade. Students can also earn additional votes by downloading Kaskade's single, "IN COMMON (Remix)," watching a video from truth, or answering a short survey if they vote for a college or signing up for Chegg Test Prep if they vote for a high school. The classroom-takeover will take place by December 31st 2016.
"While the youth smoking rate is down to 7 percent, we know that Big Tobacco is still on the hunt for new smokers," said Eric Asche, Chief Marketing Officer, Truth Initiative, the organization that funds and directs truth. "The ongoing negative impact from tobacco is massive, which is why we partner with companies like Chegg. When we bring passion, creativity and social influence to the issue, students across the country become empowered to help end smoking for good. This is a goal this generation can achieve."
This #CheggMusic101 is presented by truth. It is the latest in Chegg's ongoing series of music classes brought to students across college and high school campuses nationwide. This season's contest follows successful programs that Chegg has conducted with top-artists including Shawn Mendes, Rachel Platten, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Taylor Swift, and Ed Sheeran.
"More and more students have expressed interest in producing and remixing music with the rise of EDM, which is why we're excited to be partnering with an EDM artist for the first time," said Mitch Spolan, EVP of Brand Partnerships at Chegg. "We are broadening our range of artists for Chegg Music 101, so that students are continually engaging and learning different facets of music with the artists and brands they love."

Multi GRAMMY® Award nominated singer, songwriter, producer, remixer and musician, Kaskade is a titan in the dance music world, and a groundbreaking innovator in the music industry as a whole. Bending the curve by which his contemporaries measure themselves, Kaskade has an unprecedented string of "firsts". He was the first DJ to land a Las Vegas residency, the first ever solo electronic dance artist to sellout both Navy Pier in Chicago, and the Staples Center in Los Angeles, and the first dance artist to perform and sell out at the Los Angeles Convention Center in its 45year history with a career defining solo headline date in front of 30,000 fans. A three time Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival veteran, Kaskade made history in 2015 where he was the only electronic musician to headline the festival and drew the two largest crowds in its storied sixteen year existence.
Crowned by The New York Times as "the new face of electronic dance music," Kaskade has been bridging the gap between old school music purists and a new generation of music lovers. Relentlessly touring the world and playing to tens of millions people around the globe, he has been in the trenches for over a decade, laying the groundwork for a titanic musical and cultural shift. With nine studio albums and five GRAMMY® nominations to his name, Kaskade's global reach is ever-expanding. He has headlined every major North American festival, and was recently inducted into Pete tong's Hall of fame, and sold out London's The Steelyard on his most recent UK date. His single "Fakin It" was first premiered in the UK when Kaskade went back to back with Danny Howard on his primetime "Dance Anthems" slot on BBC Radio 1.
While Kaskade's handwriting is all over the history of electronic music, his influence today is at an all-time high. His latest full length album, Automatic [Warner Bros. Records/Arkade] claimed the #2 spot on the Billboard Dance /Electronic Albums Chart. Automatic commanded a Top 15 placement on the U.S. Digital Chart, as well as amassing over 50 million streams on Spotify in less than a year's time. His live set from Ultra Music Festival 2016 has garnered over 1.9 million views in a matter of months. (Watch Here) Kaskade continues his reign in Las Vegas with a residency for Wynn at XS and Encore Beach Club, and his social media reach continues to connect him with his audience in an authentic and powerful way. Rolling Stone asserts, "Kaskade represents an intensely positive side of dance music culture", another cornerstone in the foundation that sets him apart.
