SAN FRANCISCO, July 22, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Vuze, an open-source, bittorrent software client provider, is looking for beta testers for its newest product, Vuze Leap. The popular peer-to-peer file sharing company has started issuing its first wave of invitations to participate in the open-beta, which will allow testers to enjoy an early look at the new product platform and simultaneously provide valuable feedback to test features.
"Vuze Leap's open-beta is a significant milestone for us in the torrent space," shared Vuze General Manager Claude Tolbert. "We see this product-beta as a collaborative effort between Vuze developers and our loyal user base. Both will contribute to building an authentic, high-functioning product that serves the needs of its users both efficiently and effectively."
Vuze Leap's beta will be available for Windows and in English only. At this time, Vuze has not confirmed whether it will be localized or released in multiple languages. Some of the key elements that Vuze is focusing on integrating into the Vuze Leap product include:
- New user interface that's modern, sophisticated and simple
- An exceptionally lightweight product that utilizes few resources
- Optimized for speed to provide faster data exchanges
- Focus on security and privacy to better preserve user anonymity and free speech rights
Vuze Leap will simplify and streamline the torrent protocol experience. "With some bittorrent clients there can be a small learning curve that new, and sometimes existing, users encounter," commented Tolbert. "Vuze Leap aims to minimize the curve through an innovative, turnkey product that anyone can use regardless of their tech background."
