VWR Receives University of California San Diego 2016 Sustainability Award for Outstanding Campus Vendor
RADNOR, Pa., June 3, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- VWR (NASDAQ: VWR), the leading independent provider of laboratory products, services and solutions, was recognized by the University of California San Diego with the Sustainability Award for Outstanding Campus Vendor. Nominated by the UC San Diego Advisory Committee on Sustainability, VWR was selected as the recipient of this award for its efforts to support the University's Core Bio Services team in its goal of producing zero waste.

VWR reduced the amount of packaging in the campus' orders, created a reusable pallet program for items shipped from VWR's Visalia, California, Distribution Center and identified alternative shipping methods to support Core Bio's overall logistics.

The Sustainability Awards have been distributed by UC San Diego since 2008 to celebrate and recognize both individuals and groups that have made the campus more sustainable. Nine recipients were honored at the 2016 Sustainability Awards, which were held on April 26, 2016, at the Loft on UC San Diego's campus.
