Vycom Named as Top Three Finalist in 2014 International Association of Plastics Distribution (IAPD) Design Competition for Plastic Products

SCRANTON, Pa., Oct. 22, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Vycom, a world leader in PVC and olefin solutions, is among the three finalists in the Corporate Division of the second annual 2014 IAPD Plastics Application Design Competition.   The design competition, with two divisions of Corporate and Collegiate, is part of the 58^th Annual IAPD Convention and Plastics Expo held Oct. 27 – 30, 2014 at the Hyatt Regency in Chicago, IL.  The first, second and third prize placements will be announced after finalists' presentations to the delegates on October 29, 2014. 

The competition showcases innovative uses of plastics in various applications.  Vycom submitted a unique project from fabricator Plastix Plus, which custom fabricates Hitec HDPE into consoles for law enforcement vehicles, including the new Ford Police Interceptor Sedans.  Hitec was selected for its durability, high impact resistance and easy clean up.  Calsak Plastics supplies Hitec to Plastix Plus and has been a valued partner of Vycom's for more than 20 years.
