Vyne CEO Lindy Benton Receives Distinguished Alumni Award from Florida State University
TALLAHASSEE, Fla., Oct. 12, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Lindy Benton, CEO and President of Vyne, has been recognized with a 2016 Distinguished Alumni Award from the Florida State University College of Education. The award was presented at an induction ceremony held at Mission San Luis in Tallahassee on Sept. 30.

Lindy was one of six alumni to receive this prestigious award and the only recipient of the college's 2016 Business and Industry Award. From among the 40,000 alumni of the College of Education, only ninety-six have previously received this recognition.

Established more than 25 years ago, the College of Education Distinguished Alumni Awards provide an avenue for honoring graduates of the college who have distinguished themselves through scholarly, creative and humanitarian achievement, and service to their profession. Each year, recipients are nominated by their peers and selected by an esteemed committee of College of Education emeritus faculty. The College of Education dean and administrative leadership members, department chairs, faculty, family and friends honored these six individuals at an awards ceremony
Lindy holds a Bachelor of Science in Education and a Master of Science in Multi-Handicapped Education from Florida State University, with extended post graduate work in Measurement and Statistics. Her 25-year career in healthcare information technology includes leadership roles at Digital Equipment Corporation, Cerner Corporation, The Sage Group, MEA|NEA and now Vyne. Lindy is a fellow with the Health Information and Management Systems Society and serves on executive councils for several health-related committees and industry associations. In 2016, she was named an inaugural recipient of the Most Powerful Women in Healthcare IT Award from Health Data Management.
