Waffle the Wonder Dog Adopted by Broadcasters Internationally

Family friendly preschool comedy picked up by ZDF Germany and 12 other international channels

HALIFAX, Nov. 9, 2018 /PRNewswire/ - DHX Media (or the "Company") (TSX: DHX, NASDAQ: DHXM), a global children's content and brands company, is pleased to announce that seasons 1 and 2 of Waffle the Wonderdog have been picked up by ZDF to transmit on their main channel and on KiKA, and also by 12 other networks internationally. Recently greenlit for a second season by CBeebies, Waffle the Wonderdog is a live action preschool series about a family that adopts an adorable talking dog. The show is produced by Darrall Macqueen and distributed internationally by DHX Media. KiKA channel will begin airing the series on December 3^rd 2018, followed by ZDF on 2 February 2^nd 2019. ZDF and KiKA are Germany's national public broadcasters.

Other broadcasters that have picked up seasons 1 and 2 include, VRT for Ketnet (Belgium), NPO Zappelin (Netherlands), NRK (Norway), DR (Denmark), Canal+ for Piwi+ (France), and Minimax (Central & Eastern Europe). Season 1 has also been picked up by SVT (Sweden), RTP (Portugal), HOP! (Israel), CJ ENM's English gem (South Korea), ABC (Australia) and TVOkids (Canada).

Darrall Macqueen recently announced the appointment of Golden Bear as master toy licensee for Waffle the Wonder Dog. Toys hit store shelves at UK retailers in October 2018. Previously, DHX Media and Darrall Macqueen collaborated on the new Teletubbies series, and DHX Media also handles distribution for Darrall Macqueen's original series Topsy and Tim.
