Wallace McGregor Recognized By Strathmore's Who's Who Worldwide Publication

SYOSSET, N.Y., May 18, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Mr. Wallace McGregor of Spokane, Washington, has been included in the Strathmore's Who's Who Worldwide Edition for his outstanding contributions and achievements in the mining industry. 

ABOUT WALLACE MCGREGOR 

Mr. McGregor has 60 years experience in mining.  He graduated from the Colorado School of Mines with a Geological Engineering Degree in 1952 and an MBA from the Harvard Business School in 1958. He undertook independent mineral exploration in Alaska.  Upon the passing of the Alaska Lands Bill in 1980, all of the major holdings of the Venture were enclosed in the Wrangell-St. Elias National Park and were closed to mining.  Mr. McGregor began industrial minerals mining in the Western U.S. focusing on zeolites.  His company, Steelhead Specialty Minerals Company, is among the principle domestic producers of zeolites with international sales.  Products include a filter media used by the nuclear industry for the removal of radionuclides from wastewaters, and ZEO PREP, used for odor and taste removal from culinary well water.  Steelhead produces and markets Active-NS, used to increase methane production in bio-gas plants.  McGregor shares ownership of the PDZ Co. with his daughter and her husband, producing zeolite-based horse stall deodorizers.  Mr. McGregor belongs to the Alaska Miners Association and is a life member and past president of the Northwest Mining Association.  He is a Board Member of the Alaska Mining Hall of Fame.  He was born on April 12, 1928 in New Jersey.  He married Darlene Dorwart and they enjoyed nature until Darlene's passing in January, 2010.
