LOS ANGELES, April 25, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- WANU, the maker of the innovative vitamin, antioxidant, and fiber infused water, today announced that it has been named the Official Water Sponsor of the 2016 March for Babies Los Angeles Event to be held on Saturday, April 30.
March for Babies is the premier fundraising event for the March of Dimes. Over 55,000 people are expected to participate statewide and 20,000 at the Los Angeles event alone. Walkers will begin a three-mile journey from the Natural History Museum in Exposition Park at 8:30 a.m., passing the L.A. Coliseum before making their way to Figueroa Boulevard.
"We're thrilled to be the Official Water Sponsor of the 2016 March for Babies event in Los Angeles this year," said Jacqueline Gonzalez, WANU Chief Marketing Officer. "March of Dimes focus on pregnancy and baby health aligns perfectly with WANU's belief that nutrition is not only vital to overall health but is especially key during pregnancy. Every bottle of WANU contains fiber and folic acid, both of which can promote a healthy pregnancy."
Recent statistics show that 9.3% of the 125,000 babies born in Los Angeles each year are born preterm, one of the highest rates among large California cities. Premature birth is the number one killer of newborns in the United States. Funds raised through March for Babies support the March of Dimes mission to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality.
"We pride ourselves on providing a fun and healthful environment during important fundraising events, such as the March for Babies," said Molly Moursi, Interim Executive Director of the March of Dimes L.A. Chapter. "We wanted to offer our dedicated and impassioned walkers a healthy beverage option during their three-mile march through Los Angeles, and WANU was the perfect choice."
WANU's unique nutrient formula is a combination of vitamins, fiber and minerals intended to promote general health and support to your daily vitamin intake.
WANU not only tastes great, but is a good source of fiber (6 grams per bottle—equivalent to 2 bananas), which can benefit expectant moms and mothers of picky eaters.
