On Saturday, Aug. 23, Warex Terminals and CITGO will host a Customer Appreciation Event featuring the CITGO Fueling Good Road Trip team and Miss Mohawk Valley 2014 Lauren Crandall at the Ulster Avenue CITGO, located at 1335 Ulster Avenue at Burlington Plaza. The event will serve as the kick off for the three-month "Adopt A School" sponsorship of Chambers Elementary, during which the Chambers Elementary Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) will receive a portion of the sales from one pre-designated "Spirit Pump" at the Ulster Avenue CITGO.

During the Aug. 23 event at the Ulster Avenue CITGO, Miss Mohawk Valley Lauren Crandall and CITGO Fueling Good Road Trip hosts Adam and Diego will welcome children and families to participate in activities from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. and to join in the ceremonial ribbon-cutting to inaugurate the "Spirit Pump" where five cents per gallon sold from Aug. 23 - Dec. 1, 2014 will be donated to the 308 students and 58 faculty and staff members at the school. Miss Mohawk Valley's attendance stems from a partnership between CITGO and the Miss America Organization to promote topics such as education and healthy living.

Mobile literacy program Bess the Book Bus, a previous winner of the CITGO Fueling Good Project, which awards grants to 501(c)(3) organizations that focus on positively impacting communities, has donated $10,000 worth of Disney books to be distributed to children at the Ulster Avenue CITGO. In addition to the donation from sales at the pump and the books distributed by Bess the Book Bus, Chambers Elementary teachers, staff and PTA members will receive discounts on convenience store items at the Ulster Avenue CITGO during the three-month promotion.

"The money raised will really help our teachers who are often giving of their own resources, and the children will greatly benefit from Bess the Book Bus' generous book donation as they start the 2014 academic year."

Chambers School first opened its' doors in 1956 with 427 students, grades kindergarten through sixth.
