Warex Terminals and CITGO Fuel Good for Kingston City Schools

KINGSTON, N.Y., Jan. 13, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- CITGO Marketer Warex Terminals Corporation, CITGO Petroleum Corporation and Miss New York 2014 Jillian Tapper recently brought special holiday cheer to the students and staff within the Kingston City School District. On Dec. 17, Warex Terminals presented the 344 students and 58 faculty and staff members of Chambers Elementary School in Kingston, N.Y. with an $8,000 donation at a special assembly following Warex's "Adopt A School" promotion.

"We wanted to assist the community that has been so generous to us," said Joseph Raineri, director of marketing with Warex Terminals. "With the assistance of the proprietors of the Ulster Avenue CITGO, we were able to give back to the teachers and staff who have contributed part of their annual income for classroom supplies, and who have donated so much of their time to help Chambers Elementary School thrive."

The Chambers Elementary Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) received five cents per gallon of the approximately 157,000 gallons of gasoline sold at the Ulster Avenue CITGO "Spirit Pump" from Aug. 23-Dec. 1 over the course of Warex's three-month sponsorship of Chambers Elementary.

Miss New York's attendance during the Dec. 17 check presentation, which included a baton twirling routine, and Miss Mohawk Valley's appearance at the August "Adopt A School" launch event stem from a partnership between CITGO and the Miss America Organization to promote topics such as education and healthy living.

"We are very appreciative of this support from CITGO and Warex," said Chambers Elementary Principal Stacia Felicello. "The money will help our school tremendously as we continue to strive to provide a nurturing environment for all of our students."
