Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Announces New Ultra HD Blu-ray™ Titles To Be Released June 7

BURBANK, Calif., May 16, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Warner Bros. Home Entertainment announced today that Creed, In the Heart of the Sea and Point Break will be available on Ultra HD Blu-ray on June 7. The Ultra HD Blu-ray Combo Pack will include an Ultra HD Blu-ray disc with the feature film in 4K with HDR, a Blu-ray disc with the feature film and special features in HD, and a Digital HD version of the feature film.

Ultra HD Blu-ray showcases 4K resolution with High Dynamic Range (HDR) and a wider color spectrum, offering consumers brighter, deeper, more lifelike colors for a home entertainment viewing experience like never before. Dolby Atmos®, which places and moves audio anywhere in the room, including overhead, will be included on In the Heart of the Sea, as well as other select titles for a truly immersive home theater experience.

For the complete 4K Ultra HD experience with HDR, a 4K Ultra HD TV with HDR, an Ultra HD Blu-ray player and a high-speed HDMI (category 2) cable are required.

CREED

From Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures, Warner Bros. Pictures and New Line Cinema comes award-winning filmmaker Ryan Coogler's Creed. The film reunites Coogler with his Fruitvale Station star Michael B. Jordan as Adonis Johnson, the son of Apollo Creed, and explores a new chapter in the Rocky story, starring Academy Award nominee Sylvester Stallone in his iconic role. Creed also stars Tessa Thompson (Selma, Dear White People) as Bianca, a local singer-songwriter who becomes involved with Adonis; Phylicia Rashad (Lifetime's Steel Magnolias) as Mary Anne Creed, Apollo's widow; and English pro boxer and former three-time ABA Heavyweight Champion Anthony Bellew as boxing champ "Pretty" Ricky Conlan. Ryan Coogler directed the film from a screenplay he wrote with Aaron Covington, based on a story by Coogler. The film is produced by Irwin Winkler, Robert Chartoff, Charles Winkler, William Chartoff, David Winkler, Kevin King-Templeton and Sylvester Stallone, alongside executive producer Nicolas Stern.   

For his portrayal of Rocky Balboa in Creed, Stallone was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role. Additionally, he was awarded the Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in a Motion Picture at the 2016 Golden Globes, as well as Best Supporting Actor at the 2016 Critics' Choice Awards. Creed was featured on more than 40 critics' "Top 10" film lists for 2015.

Oscar® winner Ron Howard (A Beautiful Mind) directs the action adventure In the Heart of the Sea, based on Nathaniel Philbrick's best-selling book about the dramatic true journey of the Essex, a New England whaling ship. In the Heart of the Sea, from Warner Bros. Pictures and Village Roadshow Pictures, stars Chris Hemsworth (The Avengers, Rush) as the vessel's veteran first mate Owen Chase; Benjamin Walker (Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter) as its inexperienced Captain, George Pollard; Cillian Murphy (The Dark Knight Rises) as second mate Matthew Joy; and Ben Whishaw (Skyfall) as novelist Herman Melville, whose inquiries into the event 30 years later helped bring the story to light. Tom Holland (The Impossible) also stars as young seaman Tom Nickerson, and Brendan Gleeson (Edge of Tomorrow) as the same man, 30 years later. Spanish actor Jordi Mollà (Riddick) is the captain of another ship, the Archimedes, who tries to warn the Essex of what may lie ahead.  Howard directed the film from a screenplay by Charles Leavitt (Blood Diamond), story by Charles Leavitt and Rick Jaffa & Amanda Silver (Rise of the Planet of the Apes), based on the book In the Heart of the Sea: The Tragedy of the Whaleship Essex by Nathaniel Philbrick, winner of the 2000 National Book Award for Nonfiction.

Point Break stars Édgar Ramírez (Zero Dark Thirty, The Bourne Ultimatum) as Bodhi, and Luke Bracey (G.I. Joe: Retaliation, November Man) as Johnny Utah, along with Teresa Palmer (Warm Bodies), Delroy Lindo (Sahara, Gone in Sixty Seconds) and Ray Winstone (Noah, The Departed), under the direction of Ericson Core (Invincible). The film is replete with the most daring athleticism ever seen in a motion picture. The action adventure feats were performed by elite athletes representing the world's best in class in big-wave surfing, wingsuit flying, sheer-face snowboarding, free rock climbing and high-speed motorcycling.  Core directed Point Break from a screenplay by Kurt Wimmer (Salt, Law Abiding Citizen), with a story by Rick King, W. Peter Iliff and Kurt Wimmer. Alcon principals Andrew A. Kosove and Broderick Johnson produced the film alongside producers John Baldecchi, David Valdes, Christopher Taylor and Kurt Wimmer.
