Washington State Department of Labor and Industries Selects InDemand Interpreting to Provide Video Remote Interpreting Services

SEATTLE, Dec. 9, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Today the Washington State Department of Labor and Industries (L&I) announced a new program for injured workers and crime victims needing language services. The program allows healthcare providers to use Video Remote Interpreting (VRI) services to access an interpreter within seconds. InDemand Interpreting is one of three authorized providers of VRI services for L&I.

This unique and innovative program gives healthcare providers an additional option to using pre-scheduled onsite interpreting or telephonic services. Washington State Department of Labor and Industries spent $13 million for onsite interpreting services for injured workers during 2013. With VRI, providers can access a remote sign language or spoken language interpreter over video with no advance notice. InDemand Interpreting provides the equipment to access these services.
