Waste Industries Donates to Veteran's Life Center

RALEIGH, N.C., Sept. 14, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Waste Industries is donating $10,000 to the Veterans Leadership Council of North Carolina - Cares (VLC) in support of its project to build the Veterans Life Center. Waste Industries will make the presentation to the Veterans Leadership Council at the Waste Industries Corporate office on September 15, 2015 at 10:30 AM.

The Waste Industries donation comes by way of the Full Circle Project, a customer-driven charitable contribution effort driven by customer votes on nine different charity classes that include Animal Rescue, Wounded Soldiers, Cancer Research, Education and Scholarships, Homeless Assistance, Children's Hospitals, Medical Research, Mental Health, and Environmental Preservation.

Now, through the support of the Veterans Life Center, we are expanding our support to the broader veteran community. The VLC is an employment opportunity based support charity with the mission of successful community reintegration for every North Carolina Veteran. They are building a residential facility, the Veterans Life Center, which will offer specialized services, counseling, training, and mentoring to help return struggling veterans to self-reliance.

The VLC takes its donation from the Wounded Soldiers charity class, the company's second largest voted charity selection at 24% of enrolled customers.

The September 15 donation event will include several special guests, including Susan Tillis, Former Chief Justice Burley Mitchell, Former State Senator Neal Hunt, Representative Marilyn Avila, and Betty Jo Shepard (Representing Senator Burr).

Waste Industries USA, Inc. is a regional provider of non-hazardous solid waste collection, transfer, recycling, and disposal services. The company currently operates in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, Virginia, Maryland, and Delaware. In addition to its solid waste services business, a wholly owned subsidiary of the company, Black Creek Renewable Energy, LLC operates its landfill-gas-to-energy plant adjacent to the company's Sampson County, N.C. landfill.
