LOS ANGELES, Feb. 12, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Mike Tyson has launched a crowdfunding campaign to raise money for homeless and underprivileged kids. Tyson, a former undisputed heavyweight champion of the world, has decided to make his vision into a reality by turning to crowdfunding and offering to watch a ringside fight, among other things, with a generous contributor.
"I was one of those kids once and I became who I am today because someone believed in me and gave me an opportunity. These kids deserve the same opportunity and same chance I was blessed with," says Tyson.
The Mike Tyson Cares Foundation was created to provide healthcare, shelter, mentoring, and job placement assistance. Their goal is to open Mike Tyson Cares organizations all over the country, and eventually have a Mike Tyson Foundation in every city.
Mike Tyson Cares had their official launch event December 7th , 2012 in Las Vegas at Tabu Lounge. Celebrities from all over attended to help support "Tyson's Kids" including celebrity DJ Angie Martinez, Claire Sinclair, Carla Pellegrino, and Sugar Ray Leonard.
Tyson has partnered up with When You Wish in order to bring his dreams to life. When You Wish has pledged to donate their fee to the Mike Tyson Cares Foundation. Join the foundation in helping the homeless youth, and score yourself a signed pair of boxing gloves, at www.whenyouwish.com/mike-tyson-cares.
