COLUMBUS, Ohio, May 21, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Casey Rose, a vehicle glass technician based in Baton Rouge, La., will represent Safelite AutoGlass^® and the U.S. in an international technician competition this May 21–22, 2014, in Rome, Italy. A live stream of the competition in windshield repair and replacement, side window replacement, and back window replacement is available at BestOfBelron.com/bob-live.

The event is hosted by Belron^®, the world leader in vehicle glass repair and replacement and parent company of Safelite AutoGlass. Belron invites its auto glass businesses in all 35 countries to complete for the international title in this biennial event – and win a year's salary.

Casey Rose was crowned the U.S. champion during Safelite's own U.S.-specific competition held January 10-11, 2014, in Columbus, Ohio. The event – Safelite's Best of Belron – brings together the company's top 12 technicians to compete for the title, a cash prize of $10,000 and to represent Safelite AutoGlassinthe international Best of Belron competition. The 12 competitors were identified in a series of market and regional competitions and judged on quality and service.

Since its creation in 2000, the Best of Belron competition reinforces the "the Belron Way of Fitting" – the best practices for fitting and repairing glass so that customers can expect the same exceptional levels of service worldwide.

Wednesday (all time U.S. Eastern Daylight Savings Time)
- 5:15 a.m. – Opening Ceremony and Introduction of Competitors
- 5:45 a.m. – Windshield Repair
- 8:45 a.m. – Back window replacement
Thursday
- 5 a.m. – Side window replacement
- 9:15 a.m. - Windshield Replacement
- 1:45 p.m. – Awards ceremony
