Water4Life Crowdfunding Campaign Raises More Than $20K to Bring Clean Drinking Water to Save Lives in Guatemala

Over 1,000 babies and small children die each year in Guatemala, due to waterborne illnesses. Life Saving Water Filters from Water4Life Ministry and WaterForLife Charity are Bringing Clean Drinking Water to Families in Guatemala.

SAN DIEGO, Aug. 28, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- In just two days Water4Life Ministry, in partnership with Water For Life Charity, is thrilled to announce they have raised more than $20,000 (40% of its funding goal) to provide safe, clean drinking water to mothers in Guatemala—thanks to a wave of early supporters.

The 35-day campaign launched August 26th on Indiegogo and aims to raise $50,000 to provide at least 2,000 VF100 lifesaving water filters to families in Guatemala who are currently drinking contaminated water.

"This is a critical moment," says Rudy Shaffer, Founder of Water4Life Ministry. "Crossing this milestone means hope is rising—but we need more hands, more hearts, and more urgency. Every dollar donated helps to put a life-saving water filter in the hands of a family that desperately needs it."

Waterborne illness is one of the leading causes of death for children under five, with more than 1,000 children dying every year in Guatemala from drinking contaminated water. Many Guatemalan mothers are forced to give their children dirty, parasite-laden water, because they have no clean alternative. With each filter delivered, Water4Life is preventing disease, restoring dignity, and literally saving lives.

Water4Life and its on-the-ground partner Sarape Social have already distributed over 1,750 filters—impacting more than 6,000 children and family members. This campaign will build on that momentum, expanding partnerships with Hope of Life International, Appleseed Ministries and other trusted partners.

Donor rewards begin at $10 to show support, as well as include exclusive rewards from leader in water filtration, Seychelle's, starting at $50. The campaign also features higher-tiered custom bundles and the opportunity to join the Water4Life team in 2025 on an all-expense paid trip for 10 days to the beautiful Antigua, Guatemala to deliver water filters and make an impact first-hand and feel the impact from receiving children and mothers.

All donations are tax-deductible through Water4Life Ministry, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
