The Starlink Mini Go Case grew out of a request from a customer who wanted a professional-looking way to carry his Starlink Mini between home and work but found the cases he'd seen too bulky and tactical-looking. WaterField subsequently surveyed more than 150 Starlink Mini owners about their equipment needs.

The research identified three common setups: car power users carrying mounting and charging accessories; overlanders and travelers needing additional power and connectivity equipment; and remote workers carrying a router and Ethernet cable. The case's adaptable interior accommodates these different accessory combinations.
