WALL, N.J., Jan. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- From a crystal ball high above Times Square to Hollywood's red carpet, Waterford is celebrating the sparkle of a new beginning in 2010 with a positive sales outlook, new marketing campaign designed to contemporize the brand, strategic partnerships and other milestones.
The Times Square New Year's Eve Ball - made of 2,668 custom designed Waterford Crystal triangles - dazzled millions as it welcomed Jan. 1, while thousands of people around the world downloaded the company's new "Clink-Clink" iPhone application to make virtual New Year's toasts with Waterford stemware.
Five days later on Jan. 6, the craftsmanship of Waterford artisans was again on display as the new official trophy of the People's Choice Awards, kicking off the Hollywood award season with a sparkle. During an entertaining onstage moment, actor Chevy Chase broke a trophy in half to share with actress Jenna Elfman, declaring that they both deserved an award. The 14-inch crystal trophies bestowed on the 35 winners were handcrafted in Ireland by Waterford artisans and valued at nearly $10,000.
