WattStopper's WLT900-F Earns JF-12 Certification to Extend Building Communications Infrastructure in U.S. Military Projects

SANTA CLARA, Calif., Nov. 10, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- WattStopper®, a leading and trusted manufacturer of energy efficient lighting controls for commercial and residential use, announced that its WLT900-F LonWorks® Transceiver has earned JF-12 certification from the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD). The WLT900-F is designed to transport LonWorks communication data over short or extended ranges using the 900 MHz frequency. The certification signifies that the product has met stringent security, reliability and flexibility requirements for U.S. military network deployments.

Now approved for selection and use by all branches of the U.S. military, the WLT900-F offers the ability to extend wireless networks beyond the confines of individual buildings enabling coordinated control of interior and exterior lighting, electric and gas metering, HVAC controls and other building loads without the need for a direct burial line or building-to-building conduit runs. The JF-12 compliant WLT900-Fs are currently deployed in the U.S. Army Metering Program and used as part of the system collecting and monitoring electrical meter data from buildings to meet specific energy criteria in compliance with the Energy Act (2005) and Energy Security Act (2007). Military facilities currently using the product include Fort Hood, Fort Benning, Fort Buchanan and Fort Irwin.
