Waveform Technology Connects More Michigan Data Centers

TROY, Mich., Feb. 17, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Local Internet service provider Waveform Technology now connects more Michigan data centers than any other competitive carrier. Waveform Technology today announced the completion of a major expansion of its Metro Detroit fiber-optic network. This IP based network provides connectivity to private, commercial, educational and municipal data centers located throughout Southeast Michigan. The total capacity of Waveform Technology's 400 route mile network is over 1,600 Gigabits per second.

The network improvements substantially increase the amount of available bandwidth in southeast Michigan, make high capacity Metro Ethernet circuits more affordable, and provide for additional Type-1 carrier options to customers in Waveform Technology's carrier neutral Troy, Michigan, Data Center. The new bandwidth is available thanks to new construction and upgrades, including increased use of Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM). Fiber construction was completed despite harsh winter weather.
