Wayne Simmons, Co-Founder and CEO of The Growth Strategy Co. awarded the 2013 Visionary Award for Entrepreneurship

Wayne Simmons was recognized for his long career of entrepreneurial achievements among innovative Northern Virginia individuals in the founder and CEO roles.  "Entrepreneurship is engrained in me. His first entrepreneurial venture, the IO2Group was an eight-person telecommunications industry product development firm. Within two years of its founding, he led the company through its acquisition by Primus Telecommunications Group.  ICOR Partners LLC was a strategic management and consulting firm serving government agencies that Mr. Simmons grew from 1 employee to 100 employees, sub-contractors and consultants, and over $15 million in revenue in eight years. ICOR's rapid growth landed it on the Inc. 500 list of fastest growing companies. It was also a recipient of Consulting Magazine's Small Jewel award. Excellare Capital Partners and Acquisition Solutions acquired ICOR in a private equity transaction in 2010.
