WCC Delivers Europe's First Automated Traveler Management System for Estonia's E-Border
UTRECHT, Netherlands, November 3, 2011 /PRNewswire/ --
WCC Smart Search & Match, the leading provider of high performance search and match software, today announced its role in the new traveler management system for the Republic of Estonia. The system is used to process Advance Passenger Information (API) and Passenger Name Record (PNR) data against a set of pre-determined risk criteria.
Inaugurated in the beginning of November, the new traveler management system enhances control of the nation's air borders. It is designed to monitor and control the movement of passengers and crew members during arrivals and departures of commercial air carriers. The new traveler management system is the result of a successful collaboration between WCC, Raytheon and the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Estonia.
WCC is providing its ELISE ID advanced technology and its award winning name matching technology to perform an automated check of the passenger's information against the watch list. The watch list matching takes just milliseconds to complete and is combined with Raytheon's Portera™ Solution to assess the risk presented by each individual entering Estonia via flights from outside the Schengen zone.
"We feel confident in choosing WCC for this vital work," said Ken-Marti Vaher, Minister of the Interior of the Republic of Estonia. "WCC has demonstrated that it is a very serious partner, with the sole objective of helping Estonia secure the Nation's borders."
"WCC is pleased to support the Ministry of the Interior of Estonia in this important effort to secure its borders," said Peter Went, CEO of WCC. "With our partner, Raytheon, we have deployed a system that will substantially reduce risk while minimizing inconvenience for travelers."
