WealthEngine Names Ronald F. Smith Chief Financial Officer

BETHESDA, Md., May 27 /PRNewswire/ -- WealthEngine, the leading provider of sophisticated wealth identification and prospect research tools and analytics, today announced that Ronald F. Smith has joined WealthEngine as Chief Financial Officer, further strengthening the firm's executive management team. Mr. Smith comes to WealthEngine with more than thirty years of business experience including ten years in public accounting and 20 years in private industry.

During the past two years, Mr. Smith served as acting CFO for several technology and information-based emerging growth companies, including WealthEngine. Over the past twenty years, he was the CFO of several emerging growth companies that raised more than $100 million in venture capital.

In addition to private equity experience, Mr. Smith has also managed merger and acquisition transactions and has deep operating experience in guiding and managing growth in entrepreneurial business environments.

In 2008, Mr. Smith founded Venture Financial Management LLC (VFM) which provides CFO and financial management services to emerging growth technology companies in the Washington, DC metro area.  Prior to forming VFM, he held CFO positions with several emerging growth companies including Synchris, Inc. (formerly MAP ROI Systems, Inc.) where he was responsible for finance, legal, human resources, and administrative functions.  He also held financial leadership positions at Entevo Corporation and Visix Software, Inc. and began his career with Coopers & Lybrand in its Denver office.

Mr. Smith holds a B.A. degree in economics from the Colorado College and an M.B.A. degree from the University of Southern California.  He is a member of the American Institute of CPA's and Virginia Society of CPA's and has been a speaker at industry conferences on the subjects of software revenue recognition, venture capital financing, and starting your own business.  Mr. Smith lives in Reston, Virginia with his wife.  He has two adult children.
